1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account data: Email address, display name, and profile photo provided during registration or via Google OAuth.
  • Assessment data: Transportation, energy, diet, and waste information you submit through our assessment forms.
  • Usage data: How you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and timestamps.
  • Device data: Browser type, operating system, and IP address for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service, including calculating your carbon footprint and generating AI insights.
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your account security.
  • Send you notifications about your assessments, progress, and product updates (if opted in).
  • Generate anonymized, aggregate data for community benchmarks (only if you opt in).

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate GreynAI:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, database (Firestore), and file storage.
  • Google Gemini AI: Generating personalized environmental insights and recommendations.
  • Google Analytics: Understanding how the Service is used (anonymized).

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, security headers, rate limiting, and server-side input validation. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your assessment data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you the Service. You may delete individual assessments from your dashboard or delete your entire account from the Settings page. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all personal data we hold about you via your Profile and Settings pages.
  • Export: Download your data using the export feature in Settings.
  • Correction: Update your profile information at any time.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data.
  • Opt out: Control notification preferences and data sharing in Settings.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. Firebase Authentication uses cookies to maintain your signed-in state.

8. Children's Privacy

GreynAI is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
